Since my teenage years I have used salt sprays to achieve those lovely beach waves that some girls are blessed with. After a long period of straightening my hair I thought I would give it a heat break and embrace my natural waves.
L’Oreal have recently brought out a collection of hair styling products and this beach wave mist was on promotion in Boots for £4.99 as part of the new range so I thought I would give it a try.
How I created my wavy hair
Just before going to bed I would spray this through the lower half of my hair towards the ends and french braid it. Then, in the morning, I would undo the plait and spray a bit more in my hair whilst scrunching up the ends to achieve a messy, beachy wave.
What I liked about the product
This might sound like a strange thing to love, but I really like the pump! It distributes the product into your hair so evenly like a fine mist so you don’t have to use a lot. Also, The neck of the pump features a handy lock to stop it leaking when travelling.
In the past I found salt sprays would make my hair dry, knotted and left a greasy residue but this did none of those things. I could easily run a bush through my hair without it getting tangled or leaving my hair frizzy.
The spray is lightly scented but you can’t really smell it on your hair which is great if you don’t like strong smelling products.
Overall I would give this a 5/5! It is the best salt spray I have ever used and I love how my hair looks and feels when using it.
Have you tried any of the new L’Oreal Stylista hair range?

I’m one of those people that’s always rushing in the morning, and I am guilty of sacrificing my morning skincare routine for a few extra minutes in bed. I never used to use a moisturiser and I would rely on the SPF in my foundation for protecting my skin against the sun.
After reading about how harmful the sun and UV rays are for damaging the skin and causing fine lines I decided that I need to step up my skincare routine – my older self will thank me I’m sure.
I did some research and found that this daily moisturiser from Boots has an SPF of 15 and a 5 star UVA filter. This is important because UV rays aren’t blocked by glass so if your office or home has large windows then you may not be as protected as you think.
This little cream is “infused with a cocktail of anti-oxidants” from Gingko plant leaves which helps to reverse signs of ageing.
Texture and formula
It has a slightly runny consistency and it very lightweight but it does not feel sticky. This cream sinks into my skin quickly and doesn’t cause my makeup to slide around. I find my skin does look a bit shiny after a few hours, but I usually put a bit of matte powder on top of my foundation to prevent this.
This isn’t heavily scented at all. It does have a very faint citrusy smell that is pleasant and not overpowering.
This is a lovely moisturiser which makes a great base for makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I don’t have many wrinkles yet so I don’t know how effective it is as an anti-ageing moisturiser, but I do feel like my skin looks radiant and healthy after using it for a few weeks.
What are your favourite day creams? Do you use a moisturiser with an added SPF or do you apply one separately?

I was so excited and extremely grateful when Influenster emailed me to tell me I was going to receive my first ever VoxBox! Inside I found two gel eyeliners by Marc Jacobs beauty in the shades ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Deja Blue’.*
I wear eyeliner most days so I was intrigued to see how I would get on with these. I won’t lie, I never envisioned myself wearing blue eyeliner so I was a little apprehensive about that one, but I knew I would love the dark brown colour as it is one of my go-to shades.
Firstly the formula is super creamy, and they glide on really well without tugging the delicate eye skin. I found the blue shade was slightly more creamier than the brown one, but they were both easy to use. I like to use a small liner brush and buff the Earthquake shade out to create a soft, smokey line – perfect for giving the eyes a subtle bit of definition. They are very pigmented too which is great!
I was really impressed the packaging. It feels very sleek and looks rather stylish. Also the eyeliners twist up so you don’t have to worry about sharpening them.
When it came to taking my makeup off at the end of the day I had no problems with this eyeliner. I usually use micellar water and I found a few wipes with a cotton pad were enough to remove all traces of makeup from my eyes. Sometimes my eye skin can get quite sensitive but these did not irritate my eyes so I was very pleased about that too.
Overall I really enjoyed using these, particularly the brown shade. I’m excited to play around more with the blue shade to create some pastel, springtime looks in the next few months.
Have you guys tried out any high end eyeliners? I what did you think?
Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day!
