Lush Rocket Science Bath Bomb

Before I get into this post I just wanted to mention a little update that I have made to my blog. Those of you who are following me on Instagram will already know, but I have finally changed my blog name and I’m really pleased with it! I thought my old name was a bit confusing and not very me so from now on my blog will be called ‘NotesbyLaura’ (I’ve decided to keep my old URL though as it looks a bit complicated to have everything redirected).

Anyway, onto the Lush review! As soon as I saw this cute little spaceship I knew I had to try it. This is the Rocket Science bath bomb, one of the most recent products released by Lush. It is one of their cheaper bath bombs, retailing at £2.95, but it does not disappoint!

One thing I love about this is the scent. It does have a strong citrusy smell, but it is very refreshing as it contains Sicilian Lemon Oil and Bergamot Oil.

Hands down, this is the most entertaining bath bomb I have ever used. I love how it is a slow fizzer that zooms around in the bathtub, emitting trails of blue and pink glittery foam which blend to create a beautiful scene in the tub, resembling that of a galaxy. I genuinely felt like a magical mermaid in a sparkly lagoon whilst in the bath.

Just a little warning, unless you’re a fan of blue legs, don’t try and get in the bath before it has finished dissolving as it contains quite a lot of colour which does stain your skin if you touch the bath bomb. Despite this, I didn’t find it stained the bath as long as you give it a quick rinse afterwards.

Overall I would give the Rocket Science bath bomb 5/5. For under £3 this is definitely worth the money. It’s fun, visually pleasing, smells great and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. They have a similar submarine one which I imagine will be amazing too!

Have you tried this bath bomb?

Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day!

Autumn/Winter Self Care Ideas

Happy October (aka the best month)! I always feel like autumn has officially begun when it gets to this time of the year. There is nothing I love more than getting all cosy in the evenings and indulging in a few self care activities, so I thought I would share a few of my favourites.

♥  Take a warm bubble bath and use a festive bath bomb (Lush do amazing ones)

♥ Read a book

♥ Moisturise your body with a rich body cream

♥ Grab a blanket and make yourself a cup of tea, or hot chocolate with lots of toppings.

♥ Try journaling and create a few festive pages like things you want to do this autumn, or jot down what you are looking forward to this winter.

♥ Care for a plant (for those of you like me who cannot keep a plant alive, a cactus is a good idea)

♥ I know drinking water is important, but why not spice things up and try a smoothie too?

♥ Do an at home workout or yoga (and then get into your cosy pjs after).

♥ Snuggle up and watch a film or TV show. Side note: anyone excited for Stranger Things this autumn?

♥ Paint your nails but add a touch of glitter, or try some autumnal nail art.

♥ Listen to a podcast.

♥ Going for a walk and watching all the golden brown leaves fall off the trees.

♥ Light a candle – my favourite is apple cinnamon flavour.

♥ Make a DIY body scrub using honey, sugar and cinnamon.

♥ Bake some festive treats. Cinnamon buns and gingerbread men are the best!

♥ Embrace the weather by wrapping up in chunky knits and scarves.

♥ Treat yourself to that cute bobble hat, or fluffy pair of socks. You’ll be glad you did when it gets cold.
